Islas del Rosario is a cluster of beautiful private islands located 20 miles off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia. This far-flung location is part of the larger Rosario Archipelago, which is made up of more than 27 islands, islets, and coral reefs. The Rosario Islands are known for their stunning turquoise waters, abundant marine life, and pristine beaches. Visitors can enjoy snorkeling, diving, kayaking, fishing, and relaxing on the beach. The area is also surrounded by lush tropical forests, making it a haven for wildlife. Whether you're looking for a romantic escape, an adventure-filled getaway with friends, or simply a relaxing break from life on land, the Rosario Islands are the perfect place to unwind and recharge.

Located in these picturesque islands, off the coast of Cartagena, Isla Rosa is a stunning open-air paradise. With its shimmering turquoise waters, pristine beaches, and lush tropical surroundings, this private island is the ultimate escape. The adventure begins when your chartered boat drops you off 5 minutes from the island where the island’s on-site personnel come and greet you in their pink skiff to embark on the island. Flying Fish and friends stayed at Isla Rosa, so we prepared a little programación from dawn to dusk

Morning: Start your day with a sunrise yoga session on the small private beach, surrounded by the sound of waves and the fragrance of blooming hibiscus flowers. Afterward, enjoy a hearty breakfast prepared by the resident chef, who fuses Peruvian and Caribbean flavors to create delicious and nutritious dishes. Never lift a finger…the table will already be set with Columbian coffee and fresh papaya…

Afternoon: Take a dip in the translucent, aquamarine water, go snorkeling with the neon blue needle fish that school around the island, use the Isla Rosa kayak to go island hopping, or simply relax on deck and soak up the Caribbean sun. If you’re lucky enough, you might just catch sight of a…flying fish. For those looking for a little adventure, ask the island’s personnel to take you out on a little tour of the surrounding islands and enjoy tropical landscapes, visit the aquarium’s dolphins, or even explore the nearby Rosario National Park.

Evening: As the sun begins to set, gather with your friends for a sunset cocktail on the terrace, surrounded by a watercolor sunset. Afterward, enjoy a delicious dinner cooked by the resident chef, featuring fresh seafood and flavorful dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.

Night: End your day with an evening dance party in the beautiful open-air living room. Don’t worry about the volume, the only ones that will hear you…are the fish…When you’ve laughed and danced until it hurts, retire to one of the four (pink!) bedrooms and drift off to sleep to the sound of the waves.

On your way back to Cartagena, ask your boat captain to swing by the Makani Luxury Beach Club on Tierra Bomba Island for a spectacular lunch.

Flying Fish recommends a suitcase full of linens and the lightest fabrics in your resort-wear wardrobe. The house is entirely pink, so you will look your best in nude tones, floral prints, and fresh white linen pieces. If perhaps you don’t feel like dressing up one day…no shirt, no shoes…no problem, the island is all yours!
